How do I know my true bra size?
Most people are wearing the wrong bra size — often because they've been wearing the same size for years without rechecking. To measure properly: measure around your ribcage directly under your bust for your band size, and around the fullest part of your bust for your cup size. The difference between these two measurements gives you your cup size. When in doubt, send us your measurements on WhatsApp and we'll guide you to the right fit.
Why does the same size fit differently across brands?
Lingerie sizing is not standardised. A 34B from one brand can fit very differently from a 34B in another. Always check brand-specific size guides, and consider the cut of the bra as well as the size.
How should a bra fit?
The band should sit straight and flat across your back — if it's riding up, the band is too big. The cups should fully contain your bust with no gaping or overflow. Straps shouldn't dig in or fall off. You should be able to fit two fingers under the band, but it shouldn't lift easily away from your body. The centre gore (the piece between the cups) should sit flat against your sternum.
My straps keep falling off — what's wrong?
Usually the band is too big. When the band is loose, it can't anchor the straps, so they slip. Try tightening the straps first — but if that doesn't solve it, you may need a smaller band size.
Styles & When to Wear What
What's the difference between balconette, demi, and full-coverage bras?
- Full coverage: Cups that fully cover the bust. Best for larger bust sizes and everyday comfort.
- Demi: Cups that cover roughly half the bust. Creates a lifted, rounded shape. Works well under lower necklines.
- Balconette: Wide-set straps, cups that sit lower on the bust, creating a horizontal neckline. Excellent for square and sweetheart necklines.
What should I wear under sheer or fitted clothing?
For fitted tops: a seamless, smooth-cup bra in a colour close to your skin tone. For sheer fabrics: a slip or cami underneath offers coverage without visible bra lines. For backless styles: a low-back strapless, or adhesive cups if the garment is structured enough to provide some support.
Is underwire actually uncomfortable?
An underwire that fits properly shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. Discomfort usually means the underwire is the wrong shape for your body, or the bra itself is the wrong size. If underwire consistently bothers you, a correctly sized wireless bra with a firm band can provide comparable support.
Care & Longevity
How often should I replace my bras?
With proper care, a quality bra should last 6–12 months of regular wear. Signs it's time to replace: the band has stretched out and you're on the tightest hook, the cups have lost their shape, the underwire is poking through, or the straps won't tighten anymore.
How should I wash my lingerie?
- Hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent — this extends bra life significantly
- If machine washing, use a mesh laundry bag and a delicate/lingerie cycle in cool water
- Never tumble dry — heat degrades elastic and warps underwire
- Lay flat or hang to dry — not by the straps, which stretches them out
- Fasten the hooks before washing to prevent them snagging on other items
How should I store my bras?
Store bras cups-up, one nested inside the other — not folded in half through the cups. Folding crushes the cup structure and causes it to lose shape over time.
